BAD WEATHER POLICY: If two of the three, Le Sueur, St Peter or TCU, schools have classes cancelled or are dismissed early due to weather issues, all home games and practices will be cancelled for that day. Any non-home games those days will need to be managed by the coach and opposing team and notify families at least 3 hours prior. Provided LSCC remains open on weekdays where BHA events are cancelled, Community Center managed open hockey may be available from 6:00-7:30 and available to all age players. For weekend activities, the decision will be at the discretion of the coach and must be made with families notified at least 3 hours prior to the event.
OUTDOOR PRACTICE GUIDELINES: It is highly recommended that you have your child get dressed for outdoor practices at home due to limited warming house space. Please make sure to dress accordingly, possibly including gloves inside hockey gloves and a tight-fitting cap or face mask. If the weather is too cold or the ice is in poor condition, the practice may be cancelled at the discretion of the coach with families notified at least 2 hours prior. The recommended guideline to consider cancelling an outdoor practice is if the temperature is below 0 degrees or the wind chill is -10 degrees or colder.
As always, parents should assess their own personal travel and safety situation and BHA wants parents to make the ultimate decision on behalf of the child. In an instance where a parent feels it is not safe for their child to participate due to weather concerns, as long as the coach is notified 3 hours prior to the event, those players will not be subject to any team rule sanctions.
